2019 Federal Election

The Committee congratulates Damian Drum on being re-elected as the Member for the seat now known as ‘Nicholls’ (formerly Murray). We are in the process of sending letters to the Prime Minister and Ministers with portfolios relevant to our region. While we were ready to work with a Labor government, and have expanded our relationships with Federal Labor in recent years, there are some positives to the coalition’s re-election, particularly in relation to water policy and the Murray Darling Basin plan. Also, the commitments made to the Shepparton bypass and integrated cancer centre unambiguously stand, and we hope to see work start on these projects in the near future.
