Fast Rail

An alliance, titled ‘Stronger Together’ which is led by Geelong City Council and includes the Committee for Greater Shepparton, has released a proposal for high speed rail in regional Victoria. The plan involves high speed electrified rail (200km/h) from Spencer Street Station to Geelong and Ballarat; and to Bendigo and Shepparton via the Tullamarine airport link. The plan can be viewed here. The regions will continue to advocate to state and federal governments. We see this as building on the already significant improvements to the Shepparton rail line from the $350 million state government investment.
