C4GS has congratulated Greater Shepparton City Council on securing the $8.5 million of Commonwealth Government funding for the GV Link announced today by Minister King.
According to C4GS Chair Leigh Findlay the need for more industrial land was holding back local business expansion and attraction of new business to the region.
“This is one if not the only large parcel of industrial land ready to be developed so let’s make it happen,” said Leigh.
“The announcement does not diminish the need for a second river crossing to service the biggest city on Victoria’s biggest river, for more industrial land to the east of Shepparton, or for ongoing funding to repair and improve the road network.
“It’s one of a suite of investments we want to see happen to realise our region’s destiny as Australia’s most important food, fibre and freight hub.
“We can use this funding to shape a stronger future for our local economy and businesses.
