Connecting with impact

Our Greater Shepparton Community Connector Program continues to deliver a return on investment that extends well beyond the dollars.

CCP proves our cultural diversity is our strength and the program is changing how we think about housing and how we create a more inclusive and welcoming city and region.

INSIGHTS

CCP captures real time data that is already shaping the city and helping us create a more inclusive and welcoming community.

Housing:

More than 80% of relocators want 1, 2 and family sized apartments and townhouses close to work.

Education:

Schools and education programs  are key factors in the decision to relocate to the region - along with access to post-secondary training, retraining and professional development, and university pathways for professionals and their families.

Diversity:

Greater Shepparton's cultural diversity is a key asset that helps our local businesses attract and retain highly skilled and globally sought after talent in our region.

FUTURE PROGRAM

C4GS continues to advocate for financial support for the program to ensure its available when and where its needed by employers including NFPs, government agencies and local business.

We recognise that our employers are recruiting in highly competitive global and national employment markets - but it is not a level playing field.

  • We lack local university pathways for engineering, agriculture, allied health and more which means local talent must leave the region to train or retrain - and local industry faces significant and costly obstacles to attract talent back to the region.

  • Greater Shepparton is more than 90 minutes from a Melbourne and from other major regional centres meaning its outside the daily communitable zone for work and study

  • We know our region is at the forefront of feeding the world, and providing health and care services into growing regional communities - our exciting career opportunities are invisible without active promotion and a CCP that can derisk the relocation decision for new talent.

  • But our rich history of welcoming migrants, our diverse community, and the CCP are helping our region compete, prosper and provide greater opportunities for all across our community.

Skilled leaders in our local businesses are the first step to unlocking career and training pathways for our local talent - from placements and work experience to PhD's and innovation.
