Greater Shepparton residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking to represent the Shepparton District in the next Victorian Parliament at a public forum on Monday 9 November 2026.
Hosted by Committee for Greater Shepparton in partnership with La Trobe University, the forum will be held at La Trobe University’s Shepparton campus.
Committee for Greater Shepparton CEO Linda Nieuwenhuizen said the forum would provide an important opportunity for genuine engagement between candidates and the community they are seeking to represent.
“Our region values genuine engagement with our political candidates. We want to understand their priorities, hear how they would respond to the issues that matter locally, and assess how effectively they could represent our region in the next Victorian Parliament,” Linda said.
“This forum is an opportunity for candidates to listen to our community and explain what they would work to achieve if elected. It also gives voters the opportunity to hear from candidates in the same setting and make an informed assessment.”
Committee for Greater Shepparton has invited all candidates and will continue to reach out to any further candidates who may nominate by the deadline of midday on Monday 9 November 2026.
Registration is essential, and attendees can submit a question for the candidates when they register.
“We encourage people to put forward questions about the issues that matter to them and our region,” Linda said.
“Questions submitted for the forum must be suitable for all candidates to answer, rather than directed at an individual candidate. This will help our community hear and compare their priorities and approaches.
Attendance is free and open to all ages. Full event details and registration are available at
